PORSCHE TAYCAN UNVEIL

The unveiling event for the new Porsche Taycan needed an electric vibe inside and out that would take the occasion to the next level.

To take it there Lumenarius deployed numerous 3D projection mapping installations around the dealership from the exterior to the interior as well as the surface of the veiled vehicle itself.

THE EXPERIENCE

After the energy built through the evening the focus came upon the moment when the new Taycan was to be unveiled.

Timing was everything and the enticing visuals of the projections helped usher in the next generation of Porsche electric automobiles.

THE SYSTEM

With so many activations an easy to setup, reliable, yet gorgeous display needed to be installed quickly.

Luckily we have a recipe in mind for an activation such as this. Simple, powerful, lightweight, and discrete. To cover the entire surface many short throw projectors on compact stands networked together to deliver light right where it needed to be.

Up in a few hours and ahead of schedule it was times like this that the built in weather proofing showed its hand for a rain storm moved in towards the end of the event. Throughout the weather and the packed house the projections stayed up indoors and out.

THE CONTENT

The design brief was to create a story that tied together the evolution of Porsche.

The new Taycan is one of the first electric vehicles to be made in mass by Porsche. It was critical the unveil looked on brand and be visually top notch.

To achieve this look a flip book like effect was rendered to show the milestone models through time in an analog fashion.

This was rendered a “naked eye 3D effect” so that as guests entered the venue the angle of the projected visuals created a truly surreal 3D illusion.

Then at the pinnacle of this visual evolution the scene transforms into a gleaming prism of the future rendered via an exacting 3D model of the Taycan.

Similar styles and themes were combined with client provided material to activate the exterior as well.
