SEATTLE ART MUSEUM
SAM LIGHTS
We transformed an entire city park into an interactive playground of light and sound.
For the 2017-2018 SAM LIGHTS event the Seattle Art Museum contacted Lumenarius to develop a site specific interactive art installation.
After seeing the site we identified a perfect opportunity to develop a large scale interactive TUBIX LED Sculpture that spanned the entire park.
EXPERIENCE
Hundreds of TUBIX LED bars lined each of the 13 trees through the park.
In the center a scale model of the park itself was adorned with large arcade style buttons representing each tree in the park.
Each button press lit up the map with reactive projection mapping, cued specific sound, and then translated this action into a ripple of light through the trees themselves.
The effect was playful and also stunning as guests started jamming to the beat while the parked pulsed to their improvised scores of sound and light.
“We loved how you transformed the Olympic Sculpture Park with your lighting. Everyone loved it!”

ART
The trees became a canvas of light for the whole city to enjoy.
Ripples of light spread from limb to limb with perfect digital precision.
Everywhere you looked there was patterns of light mirroring the expression of those interacting with the piece.
SYSTEM
The TUBIX LED Pixel Bars were made for this.
Our signature system of outdoor rated RGB LED light fixtures is the perfect way to achieve lighting at scale in any weather.
Lightweight, vibrant, and dynamically controlled we were able to realize a massive effect effortlessly.
